National Consumer Law Center

The National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) is a nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to achieving economic justice for low-income and disadvantaged communities. For over 50 years, NCLC has used its expertise in consumer law to stop exploitative practices and help families build and retain wealth. Regarding heirs property, we work to prevent home loss by advocating for policies that clarify ownership and protect families from predatory partition sales and tax foreclosures. Our efforts focus on preserving generational wealth—particularly in communities of color—through litigation, policy reform, and providing essential resources for advocates and heirs navigating “tangled titles.”
